I went to two schools: University of Illinois and the University of Mabel’s. And Nick was the main attraction, the center of that other life, the life that took over, the one that’s still going on. I bought my first electric guitar with my first paycheck from my first real job after I graduated. School got me that paycheck, I guess, but Nick’s class is the one I’ll be taking for the rest of my life.
