I always struggled to find the words to tell Nick how much his music meant to me in a way he would accept. Instead I decided I would just try to help facilitate whatever the B-Lovers wanted to do in any way I could. I guess I ended up starting two record labels to release Nick's music so there would at least be some artifacts.

I remember one time when Nick was visiting and he seemed particularly excited about playing rock music. I tried to prolong that mood by playing a big pile of new stuff coming out of England. It must have been 1986. Next thing I know he has a new batch of songs for a new band named after one of the songs, "The Big Maybe", from the Avons album which we had listened to that weekend.

The most exciting times were when B-Lovers would play Mabel's. There was usually ten mind blowing new songs in the set.
