Oh gosh, so many memories. The first time I saw Nick, he seemed like an angel with a broken wing. Beautiful, poetic, thoughtful.
He lived with us at my grandma’s for awhile in the 80’s. He would come home after a long day of work, only say hello to the cat, and go upstairs to listen to the Swans, which I found hilarious and sweet.
Nick was also well-read. He turned me on to Camus, and the Edie Sedgwick bio, so his tastes were wonderfully eclectic.
His music was lovely.
We had been friends for so long, and when he got together with Gina, it was the first time I ever saw him truly happy. They were a wonderful couple.
Nick had a way of making you feel like you were the most important person in the room; he really paid attention when you conversed with him.
He was a good friend, and I’m honored to have him be a part of my life.
